Within the next month, EASA will be releasing an update to CS-STAN Standard Changes and Standard Repairs. If everything goes well, the update should include CS-SC005a, which will authorise aircraft maintenance engineers to connect GNSS position sources to an ADS-B capable transponder to enable ADS-B OUT.<\/h6>\n
Three configurations will be permissible under this standard change:<\/h6>\n
Configuration 1<\/span>
\ncertified transponder + certified GNSS
\nconforms to AMC 20-24 but with (E)TSO-C166b unit for ADS-B OUT
\nreports SIL = 3 and SDA = 2
\nConfiguration 2<\/span>
\ncertified transponder + ADS-B OUT + TABS GNSS[1]
\nreports SIL = 1 and SDA = 1
\nConfiguration 3<\/span>
\ncertified transponder + ADS-B OUT + uncertified GNSS
\nreports SIL = 0 and SDA = 0 (for airborne traffic awareness only)<\/h6>\n
This SC is not suitable for the release to service of the aircraft by the Pilot-owner, it must be performed by a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer. However, the engineer does not have to apply for a Minor modification, which significantly reduces costs and saves time.<\/h6>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Vesiputousmalleihin perustuva laitekehitys ja laitehyv\u00e4ksynn\u00e4t tulee korvata hyv\u00e4ksym\u00e4ll\u00e4 ketter\u00e4n kehityksen menetelmill\u00e4 kehitetyt vaatimusten mukaiset laitteet suunnittelijan vaatimustenmukaisuusilmoituksella.<\/p>\n

N\u00e4iden menetelmien tuloksena uusien laitteiden kustannustaso on vain 1-10 % ETSO ja TSO-laitteiden kokonaiskustannuksista. Laitteiden kehityksen, hankinnan ja asennuksen aikaj\u00e4nne on minimaalinen verrattuna ETSO- ja TSO-laitteisiin.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
